When washing breathable acid-proof and alkali-proof pants, do not mix them with other clothes. Use neutral or weak alkaline detergents for hand washing or washing in a washing machine. Do not use bleaching powder or organic solvents to remove dirt, so as not to affect the acid-proof performance and the fastness of the fabric. The washing water temperature should be below 40℃. Do not use hard objects such as brushes or rub them hard to avoid strong mechanical damage to the pants. The washing time should be as short as possible, but there should be sufficient time for rinsing with clean water to remove the dirt and detergent remaining in the fabric fibers.

Clothes should be dried naturally in a ventilated and cool place, avoiding exposure to sunlight. Because the acid penetration time of wet clothes is significantly shortened, iron them with an iron at about 115℃ in a semi-dry state, which can slow down the decline in acid-proof performance to a certain extent. Non-breathable acid-proof pants should generally be rinsed with a large amount of clean water, and dirt can be gently scrubbed with a soft brush, but do not use hot water or organic solvents for cleaning, avoid exposure to sunlight, baking, and ironing, so as to avoid aging, cracking, swelling, and loss of protective performance.

Storage of acid-proof and alkali-proof pants: Try to avoid folding acid-proof clothing when storing it. You can hang it up and store it in a ventilated and dry place away from heat sources, more than 200mm from the ground and walls, and 1m away from all heating elements. Airtight acid-proof pants such as tape and plastic should be stored away from high temperature and sunlight. If folding is required, talcum powder should be sprinkled on it to prevent adhesion. Acid-proof clothing must be covered during transportation.

The service life of acid-proof and alkali-proof pants is determined by many factors, including the material of the clothing itself, the degree of acid hazard in the workplace, and the frequency of wearing clothing. For example, the fabric of breathable acid-proof pants treated with finishing agents generally has a shorter service life than that of airtight acid-proof pants. The same fabric of acid-proof pants may be worn by acid-washing chemical workers for a shorter period of time than tank cleaners. For battery assemblers, small enterprises may have a shorter wearing period than large enterprises.

Acid-proof and alkali-proof pants should be scrapped if abnormalities occur during use or if they cannot meet the use requirements. Breathable acid-proof pants should be scrapped in advance when they are damaged, the seams are broken, moldy, brittle, or have been penetrated by acid. Non-breathable acid-proof pants should be scrapped in time when they are damaged, the seams are glued, cracked, swollen, the coating layer falls off, or they are aged and brittle. The user unit should sample and test the acid-proof pants that have reached half of their service life or have been stored for one year. Products that have lost their acid-proof properties after testing should be scrapped in time in order to ensure safe use.
